About Us
We’re on a mission to create a brighter future, where you can be a change maker at the actual source. We’re one of Australia’s largest water utilities with over 30% of Victoria’s population relying on us for their essential water and sanitation services.

Our award-winning culture fosters an inclusive, collaborative, and flexible environment that enables our people to thrive. Here, you’ll be inspired and challenged to grow alongside us.

We're committed to reconciliation and supporting the self-determined role for Traditional Owners/Custodians in water and land management.

The Role
We are seeking a proactive Project Engineer to join our Major Projects Division. In this role, you will assist in the delivery of our purpose: to safely deliver high-quality major projects that achieve performance targets while demonstrating exemplary engagement with our partners and customers.

Working with a "One Team" attitude, you will support the Project Manager in using efficient management systems to deliver major water and sewer assets in accordance with defined standards, timeframes, and budgets

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the development of project management plans, tracking, and reporting.
  • Supporting engineering options assessments, preparing technical memos, and reviewing contractor/consultant design submittals to confirm compliance with standards.
  • Managing contractor RFIs, submittals, and deliverables, and maintaining relevant registers.
  • Assisting with the coordination of site activities (monitoring programs, field studies) and maintaining construction site diaries. You will ensure safety and wellbeing are front of mind during all activities.
  • Coordinating asset information (manuals, geospatial info, as-constructed drawings) and setting up preventative maintenance plans.
  • Tracking compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., approvals, reporting) and supporting the Project Manager as required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Preference for Mechanical, Civil, Chemical/Process, or Environmental).
  • Construction Induction Training (White Card).
  • Demonstrated experience or understanding of the design and construction of water and sewer infrastructure.
  • Basic experience in project management and contract management of construction activities.
  • Strong written, verbal, and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to drive to site as required.
